Question: Is Smoking Allowed on Queensland Beaches?
Answer: Smoking is not allowed on patrolled Queensland beaches.
Enforcement of the relevant Queensland law began on March 31, 2005, after a three-month amnesty period which was used to prepare the public for the effect of the law.
Aside from patrolled beaches, other Queensland areas covered by the smoking ban are liquor-licensed premises of which one-third must be smoke-free, within 10 metres of children's playgrounds, and within four metres of public building entrances.
