Although it might look a bit fierce, the frilled-neck lizard, Chlamydosaurus kingii, is actually quite harmless. You'll find a large collection of Australian fauna at Sydney Wildlife World at Darling Harbour which is within walking distance of the city centre.
You can walk to Darling Harbour, or take the monorail, or you can take a ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour and alight at the jetty closest to the Sydney Aquarium.
