Where Is The Hungry Mile?

By Larry Rivera, About.com

Question: Where Is The Hungry Mile?
Answer:

The Hungry Mile is an officially designated Sydney urban place located mainly in the suburb of Barangaroo, formerly known as East Darling Harbour.

The Hungry Mile includes the section of Hickson Rd between the Munn St overbridge and the Napoleon St intersection.

The Hungry Mile was the colloquial name given to the Sydney dock area during the Depression years where out-of-work dock workers waited for jobs, apparently going hungry in the process.

The Hungry Mile was designated an urban place by the Geographical Names Board of New South Wales on July 24, 2009.
