Where Is the Sydney Zoo?

By Larry Rivera, About.com

Question: Where Is the Sydney Zoo?
Answer:

The Sydney zoo, properly known as Taronga Zoo, is on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour, across the water from Circular Quay, in the Sydney suburb of Mosman.

The Sydney zoo is the first public zoo in the state of New South Wales and was first located in Moore Park south-southeast of the city centre.

It was operated by the Zoological Society of New South Wales, then by the New Zoological Gardens Trust which became the Taronga Zoological Park Trust.

In 1973, after passage of a new Zoological Parks Board Act of NSW, management was vested in the Zoological Parks Board of NSW.

A most convenient way of traveling to the Sydney zoo is by ferry from Sydney's Circular Quay.
