St Andrew's Cathedral, on George St beside Sydney Town Hall, is the Sydney cathedral of the Anglican Church of Australia. Founded in 1819 and consecrated in 1868, it is the oldest cathedral in Australia.

The original construction by James Hume was adapted by colonial architect Edmund Blaket in the mid-1850s to create a larger building in the neo-gothic style popular with Victorian architects. He added the central tower and significantly changed much of the internal detailing. A major conservation and restoration program was undertaken in the cathedral in 1999-2000.
