Close to the western end of Pyrmont Bridge and north of Harbourside shopping complex, the Australian National Maritime Museum sits by the water with several of its watercraft exhibits moored nearby.

The moored ships include the faithfully reproduced and seaworthy replica of Captain James Cook's HMB Endeavour, when it's in port, and the relatively recent former Royal Australian Navy destroyer HMAS Vampire.

The Australian National Maritime Museum is a repository of Australian maritime history comprising documents, paintings, photographs, relics and its ships from various periods.
