Australia's largest museum, the Powerhouse Museum, is at the southwestern edge of Darling Harbour and readily accessible to Sydney visitors.

It is certainly within walking distance of the Sydney city centre, and buses and trams and the Darling Harbour monorail have stops close by.

The Powerhouse Museum's diverse collection of 385,000 objects spans history, science, technology, design, industry, decorative arts, music, transport and space exploration. There are a number of hands-on and interactive exhibits of particular interest to the yound museum visitors.
