It is advisable when going to Sydney's theatre venues for the first time to know exactly where they are. Best to refer to a Sydney street directory before setting out. Of course, you can always take a taxi and let the driver worry about getting you there.

Capitol Theatre

Theatre entrance is on Campbell St. Parking stations at adjacent Capitol Square or Goulburn St station. Metered street parking. If going by train, walk north on Pitt St from Central Station. Convenient bus stops at Central Station and along George St.

15-minute walk from Newtown train station: turn right out of the station, then right into Wilson St. 10-minute walk from Macdonaldtown trainstation. By bus from Central, take Newtown bus 422, 423 or 426 and alight on King St, Newtown, near the Queen St intersection. Limited parking on site which during the Sydney Festival costs $12 and must be prebooked with your tickets through Ticketek.

Take the 432, 433 or 434 bus from Circular Quay and get off at the corner of Darling and Eliott Sts; 441 or 442 bus from Sydney Town Hall, get off at Beattie and Mullens Sts, and walk five minutes; or take any 500 series bus along Victoria Rd, get off at Darling St, Rozelle, for a 10-minute walk to theatre.
Darlinghurst Theatre
19 Greenknowe Ave, Potts Point.
Drive and park at Kings Cross parking station on Ward Ave, and have your parking ticket validated for discounted parking; or take the train to Kings Cross; then, in both cases, walk to theatre using your street directory as a guide. Bus 311 from Castlereagh St in the city stops across the road from theatre.
Drama Theatre
Sydney Opera House, Bennelong Point.
Underground carpark available. Or take the train, bus or ferry to Circular Quay and walk.
Edge Theatre
Bray and Kings Sts, Newtown.
Take the train or bus to Newtown and walk the short distance to the theatre. If driving, parking may be a problem.
Ensemble Theatre
78 McDougall St, Kirribilli
You can walk from Milsons Point train station or try to find street parking. Alternatively, park at Milsons Point railway carpark, and walk to theatre. Ot take the ferry to North Sydney's High St Wharf or Kirribilli Wharf and walk 10-15 minutes to theatre. Water taxis can drop you off at nearby Careening Cove.
Genesian Theatre

A short walk from Town Hall train station. Steet parking, if available, or try parking station across the street.
Glen St Theatre
Glen St and Blackbutts Rd, Belrose.
