CUB Malthouse

By Larry Rivera, About.com

CUB Malthouse, originally built as a brewery and malting works for Castlemaine Breweries, and later acquired by Carlton and United Breweries, was donated as a new home for Melbourne's Playbox Theatre which was destroyed by fire in February 1984.

The Malthouse complex houses three theatres — Merlyn, Beckett and Tower — rehearsal studios, meeting rooms and a bar and cafe.
