The Sunlander is Queensland Rail's coastal train between Brisbane and Cairns, traveling close to 1700 kilometres three times weekly.

The Sunlander provides both first class facilities — fine accommodation, dining in an exclusive restaurant car, entertainment, local commentary and and what it describes as a host of special touches in its Queenslander Class — and budget travel in single, double and triple berths and seats with access to club and buffet cars for meals and refreshments.

Queenslander Class on The Sunlander is available twice weekly from Brisbane on Sunday and Thursday only.

Among the stops between Brisbane and Cairns are Hervey Bay, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay, Proserpine and Townsville.

The overnight Sunlander trip between Brisbane and Cairns takes 31 hours.

Check the Queensland Rail website for Sunlander fares.
